The base stations are needed to harvest the data from the collars. The information is transferred between the base stations until they reach a master base station that have access to a mobile network. This master base station sends the data to Herdview backbone. The base stations has a range between 40-60 kilometers base-to-base. Together the base stations will form a mesh covering the areas you seek to cover. Regarding placement a rule of thumb is “the higher the better”. We will work jointly with you to optimize placement and we also offer network planning services.
TANNAK owns the base stations and you as customer will only need to pay a monthly network fee per collar in operation.
The base stations can be place anywhere, more or less. They are powered by the sun and are completely autonomous. They can be delivered in several shapes and forms. The one on the picture is equipped to survive the winter in northern Sweden.
